LOCATION, How to find Sirince and the Terrace Houses?

From the Airport
Follow the signs for Izmir to get out of the airport but as soon as you pass the police control you will see a brown sign to Ephesus or Efes and AYDIN. Take this fork to the right and then continue along this road for about 5 kms until you see a large green sign for AYDIN. This leads you to a toll road and you must go through one of the channels not marked OGS and collect a ticket.
From Izmir follow the green signs for the motorway to AYDIN .
After joining the road you will travel for about half an hour and will take the turn off for EPHESUS and SELCUK. Here you will pay a tiny toll of under 2 YTL SO TRY AND HAVE SOME CHANGE READY.
After 10 kms you will see SELCUK CASTLE on an outcrop of rock infront of you and you will pass a few petrol stations. As soon as you enter the town of Selcuk you will see a turning to your left and a brown sign for Sirince. (Exactly opposite to the Shell petrol station ) Turn left here and you will pass under a railway bridge. 200 meters later turn left.. This road will bring you to SIRINCE..about 7-8 km into the hills.

When you arrive to the entrance of the village, you will see an old building on your left called ARTEMIS , continue down the street and after you turn to the right you will see the village minibus stop on your left..( please see the little village map attached , if you want to find the way by yourself ) and the mosque ahead of you ,turn left here and the road leads you to a central square and on the opposite side is the car park.

After leaving the car go back into the square and you will see a covered walkway leading into a shopping market in the left hand far side of the square. Go straight in here and keep going until the market opens into another square , turn left here leaving the grocery shop on your right go up the cobble street. Do not turn left again but continue straight on past a water fountain on your left and keep going up the road past the tractor park and open space on your right. If you look up you will see Terrace Houses straight in front of you. And go through the double doors and up the stairs and you should find us waiting for you.
You can actually drive up to the Houses and park by the fountain but for your first time I suggest that you walk to decide whether you feel comfortable driving the car up the narrow cobble streets.
